(148) All h does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged. And ever is All h Hearing and Knowing.
(149) If [instead] you show [some] good or conceal it or pardon an offense – indeed, All h is ever Pardoning and Competent.
(150) Indeed, those who disbelieve in All h and His messengers and wish to discriminate between All h and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between –
(151) Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.
(152) But they who believe in All h and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them – to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is All h Forgiving and Merciful.
(153) The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down to them a book from the heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, "Show us All h outright," so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We pardoned that. And We gave Moses a clear authority.
(154) And We raised over them the mount for [refusal of] their covenant; and We said to them, "Enter the gate bowing humbly", and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the sabbath", and We took from them a solemn covenant.

(27) Then Allah will accept repentance after that for whom He wills; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(28) O you who have believed, indeed the polytheists are unclean, so let them not approach al-Masjid al-haram after this, their [final] year. And if you fear privation, Allah will enrich you from His bounty if He wills. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Wise.
(29) Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.
(30) The Jews say, "Ezra is the son of Allah "; and the Christians say, "The Messiah is the son of Allah ." That is their statement from their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved [before them]. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?
(31) They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.

(14) And from those who say, "We are Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do.
(15) O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.
(16) By which Allah guides those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from darknesses into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.
(17) They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allah at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.

of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about All h except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of All h and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in All h and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist – it is better for you. Indeed, All h is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is All h as Disposer of affairs.
(172) Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of All h, nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant – He will gather them to Himself all together.
(173) And as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards and grant them extra from His bounty. But as for those who disdained and were arrogant, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will not find for themselves besides All h any protector or helper.
(174) O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.
(175) So those who believe in All h and hold fast to Him – He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them to Himself on a straight path.

(38) At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."
(39) So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."
(40) He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" The angel said, "Such is Allah; He does what He wills."
(41) He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning."
(42) And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.
(43) O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]."
(44) That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.
(45) [And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary – distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah].

This is] a mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zechariah
(3) When he called to his Lord a private supplication.
(4) He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.
(5) And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir
(6) Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]."
(7) [He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name."
(8) He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?"
(9) [An angel] said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, for I created you before, while you were nothing.' "
(10) [Zechariah] said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He said, "Your sign is that you will not speak to the people for three nights, [being] sound."
(11) So he came out to his people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [ Allah ] in the morning and afternoon
