Muslim Women in Focus
Muslim women’s issues represent an essential part of WICS’s programs. This is because the Society’s objectives are in compliance with the distinguished position that Islam gave women.
The programs that address women’s interests comprise education, training and medical care. The Society also provides support in activating women’s institutions such as unions and associations. In addition, it organizes cultural forums, seminars, lectures and conferences that discuss women’s issues and ways to solve the problems that they face so as to enable them to become active and effective participants in the development of their respective societies. The programs also aim at freeing them from all kinds of injustices that encumber her due to society’s backwardness and ignorance; such as traditional factors that hold them back in social life, or the materialistic pressures that force her to imitate men to the detriment of her unique value as a human being.
Interest in women’s issues is a priority in World Islamic Call Society’s programs. This becomes clear when looking at the many programs that focus on Muslim women, namely the organization of training programs in different fields to afford them the opportunity to participate in the global process of social, economic and cultural development. These programs also provide support to women’s institutions and organizations such as local and regional associations and unions.
The World Islamic Call Society is interested in organizing training programs for women in several developing countries. Thousands of women attended sewing and other manual craft workshops in order to provide alternative working opportunities. They also learned about Islam and the Arabic language. The Association organized a large number of women’s cultural gatherings and meetings that addressed more than 8’000 women from different parts of the world.

Cultural and educational activities
The World Islamic Call Society has extensive experience in the fields of education and culture in different stages and at all levels. This was a pioneer experience, through which the Society was able to provide an education to those who cannot afford one; a reality in most parts of the world. For many the only alternative to illiteracy is joining evangelical schools that preclude the Islamic creed, culture and identity, except for where a Da’wa establishment exists. Hence, the Society’s contribution in this field is tantamount to rescuing a whole generation of underprivileged Muslims from the clutches of Christianization and westernization which obliterate their identity, creed and way of life. In this context, the Society has done the following:
The Society gives a great deal of attention to women’s affairs, as they are the fundamental pillar of society. WICS enhances their social and economic conditions, by educating them and helping them solve their problems so that they are able to play an active role in raising their children according to Islamic teachings and contribute in spreading Da’wa in their families. To this end the Society holds many training and cultural programs that aim at understanding women’s issues and finding solutions to these problems. By the same token, WICS enables them to acquire vocational skills that help them earn a decent living. It’s in this spirit that the Society has undertaken and continues to undertake the aforementioned training and cultural programs
