( لَوْ أَنزَلْنَا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى جَبَلٍ لَّرَأَيْتَهُ خَاشِعًا مُّتَصَدِّعًا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ وَتِلْكَ الأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ).
وفي تلك الليلة اتخذت قرار حياتي فأسلمت، ثم انضم إلي جميع أولادي ، وكان أكثرهم حماساً ابني الأكبر (أسامة) وهو دكتور في الفلسفة ويعمل أستاذاً لعلم النفس في جامعة السوربون".
وبإسلامهم زادت بيوت الإسلام بيتاً .
قصته:
الأستاذ السابق بكلية اللاهوت الإنجيلية ( إبراهيم خليل فلوبوس ) واحد من الملايين الذين انقادوا لما وجدوا عليه آباءهم من غير بني الإسلام .. تنشأ في الكنيسة .. وترقى في مدارس اللاهوت .. وتبوأ مكانة مرموقة في سلم التنصير .. وبأنامل يديه خط عصارة خبرته الطويلة عدة مئات من الصفحات رسالة للماجستير تحت عنوان : ( كيف ندمر الإسلام بالمسلمين ) ؟ !. في علم اللاهوت كان ( فلوبوس ) متخصصاً لا يجارى .. وفي منظار ( الناسوت ) كان ابن الكنيسة الإنجلية .. الأمريكية يتيه خيلاء .. ولأسباب القوة والمتعة والحماية المتوفرة .. ما كان ( إبراهيم ) يقيم لعلماء الأزهر ، ـ وقد شفهم شظف العيش ـ أي وزن أو احترام !
لكن انتفاضة الزيف لم تلبث فجأة أن خبت .. وضلالات التحريف الإنجيلي والتخريف التوراتي انصدعت على غير ميعاد .. وتساقطت إذ ذاك غشاة الوهم ، وتفتحت بصيرة الفطرة ، فكان لإبراهيم خليل فلوبوس ـ وقد خطا عتبات الأربعين يوم الخامس والعشرين من 59 ـ ميلاداً جديداً .
مع الأستاذ إبراهيم خليل أحمد … داعية اليوم كان هذا اللقاء .. وعبر دهاليز الضلالة والزيف نحو عالم الحق والهداية والنور كان هذا الحوار .
ـ كيف كانت رحلة الهداية التي أوصلتك شاطئ الإيمان والإسلام ، ومن أين كانت البداية ؟
ـ في مدينة الإسكندرية وفي الثالث عشر من يناير عام 1919 كان مولدي ، نشأت نشأة نصرانية ملتزمة وتهذبت في مدارس الإرسالية الأمريكية ، وتصادف وصولي مرحلة (الثقافة) المدرسية مع اندلاع الحرب العالمية الثانية ، وتعرض مدينة الإسكندرية لأهوال قصف الطائرات .. فاضطررنا للهجرة إلى أسيوط حيث استأنفت في كليتها التعليم الداخلي وحصلت على الدبلوم عام 41 / 1942 وسرعان ما تفتحت أمامي سبل العمل فالتحقت بالقوات الأمريكية من عام 42 وحتى عام 1944م .
ـ ما طبيعة هذا العمل وكيف حصلت عليه ؟
ـ كان للقوات الأمريكية وقتذاك معامل كيماوية لتحليل فلزات المعادن التي تشكل هياكل الطائرات التي تسقط من أجل معرفة تراكيبها ونوعياتها ، وبحكم ثقافتي في كلية أسيوط ولتمكني من اللغة الإنجليزية ولأن الأمريكان كانوا يهتمون اهتماماً بالغاً بالخريجين ويستوعبونهم في شركاتهم فقد أمضيت في هذا العمل سنتين .. لكن أخبار الحرب والنكبات دفعتني لأن أنظر إلى العالم نظرة أعمق قادتني للاتجاه إلى دعوة السلام وإلى الكنيسة .. التي كانت ترصد رغباتي وتؤجج توجهاتي .. فالتحقت بكلية اللاهوت سنة 1945م وأمضيت فيها ثلاث سنين.
ـ ماهي الخطوط العامة لمنهج الكلية وأين موقع الإسلام فيه ؟
ـ في الثمانية أشهر الأولى كنا ندرس دراسات نظرية .. يقدم الأستاذ المحاضرة على شكل نقاط رئيسية ، ونحن علينا أن نكمل البحث من المكتبة . وكان علينا أن ندرس اللغات الثلاث : اليونانية والأرامية والعبرية إضافة إلى اللغة العربية كأساس والإنجليزية كلغة ثانية .. بعد ذلك درسنا مقدمات العهد القديم والجديد ، والتفاسير والشروحات وتاريخ الكنيسة ، ثم تاريخ الحركة التنصيرية وعلاقتها بالمسلمين ، وهنا نبدأ دراسة القرآن الكريم والأحاديث النبوية ، ونتجه للتركيز على الفرق التي خرجت عن الإسلام أمثال الإسماعيلية ، والعلوية ، والقاديانية ، والبهائية … وبالطبع كانت العناية بالطلاب شديدة ويكفي أن أذكر بأننا كنا حوالي 12 طالباً وُكّل بتدريسنا 12 أستاذاً أمريكياً و7 آخرين مصريين .
ـ هذه الدراسات عن الإسلام وعن الفرق .. هل كانت للاطلاع العلمي وحسب أم أن هدفاً آخر كان وراءها ؟
ـ في الواقع كنا نؤسس على هذه الدراسات حواراتنا المستقبلية مع المسلمين ونستخدم معرفتنا لنحارب القرآن بالقرآن … والإسلام بالنقاط السوداء في تاريخ المسلمين ! كنا نحاور الأزهريين وأبناء الإسلام بالقرآن لنفتنهم ، فنستخدم الآيات مبتورة تبتعد عن سياق النص ونخدم بهذه المغالطة أهدافنا ، وهناك كتب لدينا في هذا الموضوع أهمها كتاب ( الهداية ) من 4 أجزاء و ( مصدر الإسلام ) إضافة إلى استعانتنا واستفادنا من كتابات عملاء الاستشراق أمثال طه حسين الذي استفادت الكنيسة من كتابه ( الشعر الجاهلي ) مائة في المائة ، وكان طلاب كلية اللاهوت يعتبرونه من الكتب الأساسية لتدريس مادة الإسلام !
وعلى هذا المنهج كانت رسالتي في الماجستير تحت عنوان (كيف ندمر الإسلام بالمسلمين) سنة 52 والتي أمضيت 4 سنوات في إعدادها من خلال الممارسة العملية للوعظ والتنصير بين المسلمين من بعد تخرجي عام 48 .
ـ كيف إذاً حدث الانقلاب فيك … ومتى اتجهت لاعتناق الإسلام ؟
ـ كانت لي ـ مثلما ذكرت ـ صولات وجولات تحت لواء الحركة التنصيرية الأمريكية ، ومن خلال الاحتكاك الطويل ، ومن بعد الاطلاع المباشر على خفاياهم تأكد لي أن المنصرين في مصر ما جاءوا لبثّ الدين وإنما لمساندة الاستعمار والتجسس على البلاد !
ـ وكيف ؟
ـ الشواهد كثيرة ، وفي أي مسألة من المسائل ، فإذا كانت البلد تستعد للانتفاضة على الظلم كانت الكنيسة أول من تدرك ذلك لأن القبطي والمسلم يعيشان على أرض واحدة ، ويوم يتأوه المسلم سرعان ما يسمع النصراني تأوهاته فيوصلها إلينا لنقوم بتحليلها وترجمتها بدورنا ، ومن جانب آخر كان رعايا الكنيسة في القوات المسلحة أداة مباشرة لنقل المعلومات العسكرية وأسرارها ، وعن طريق المراكز التنصيرية التابعة لأمريكا والتي تتمتع بالرعاية وبالحماية الأمريكية كانت تدار حرب التجسس ، ولك أن تعلم هنا أن النصراني في مصر له جنسيتان وانتماءان : انتماؤه للوطن الذي ولد فيه وهو انتماء مدني تُعبر عنه جنسيته المصرية ، وانتماء ديني أقوى تمثله الجنسية النصرانية . فهو يحس في أوروبا وفي أمريكا حصناً وبالدرجة الأولى ، بينما يشعر النصارى في مصر أنهم غرباء ! تماماً كالانتماء الإسرائيلي الذي يعتبر انتماءه بالروح إلى أرض أورشليم انتماء دينياً ، وانتماءه إلى الوطن الذي ولد فيه انتماء مدنياً وحسب ! ولذلك قام مخطط المنصرين والكنيسة على جعل مصر تدور في فلك الاستعمار فلا تستطيع أن تعيش بعيداً عنه ، الأمر الذي جعلني أشعر بمصريتي وأحس أن هؤلاء أجانب عني وأن جاري المسلم أقرب إلي منهم بالفعل … فبدأت أتسامح .. عفواً أقول أتسامح وأعني أن أقرأ القرآن بصورة تختلف عما كنت أقرؤه سابقاً وفي شهر يونيو تقريباً عام 1955م استمعت إلى قول الله سبحانه [ قل أوحي إلي أنه استمع نفر من الجن فقالوا إنا سمعنا قرآناً عجبا يهدي إلى الرشد فآمنا به .. ] هذه الآية الكريمة من الغريب أنها رسخت في القلب ، ولما رجعت إلى البيت سارعت إلي المصحف وأمسكته وأنا في دهشة من هذه السورة ، كيف ؟ إن الله سبحانه وتعالى يقول : [ لو أنزلنا هذا القرآن على جبل لرأيته خاشعاً متصدعاً من خشية الله .. ].
إبراهيم خليل الذي كان إلى عهد قريب يحارب الإسلام ويقيم الحجج من القرآن والسنة ومن الفرق الخارجة عن الإسلام لحرب الإسلام … يتحول إلى إنسان رقيق يتناول القرآن الكريم بوقار وإجلال … فكأن عيني رُفعت عنهما غشاوة وبصري صار حديداً … لأرى ما لا يرى … وأحس إشراقات الله تعالى نوراً يتلألأ بين السطور جعلتني أعكف على قراءة كتاب الله من قوله تعالى : [ الذين يتبعون الرسول النبي الأمي الذي يجدونه مكتوباً عندهم في التوراة والإنجيل ] وفي سورة الصف : [ ومبشراً برسول يأتي من بعدي اسمه أحمد ] إذاً فالقرآن الكريم يؤكد أن هناك تنبؤات في التوراة وفي الإنجيل عن النبي محمد . ومن هنا بدأت ولعدة سنوات دراسة هذه التنبؤات ووجدتها حقيقة لم يمسها التبديل والتغيير لأن بني إسرائيل ظنوا أنها لن تخرج عن دائرتهم .. وعلى سبيل المثال جاء في ( سفر التثنية ) وهو الكتاب الخامس من كتب التوراة ( أقيم لهم نبياً من وسط إخوتهم مثلك ، وأجعل كلامي في فمه فيكلمهم بكل ما أوصيه به ) توقفت أولاً عند كلمة ( إخوتهم ) وتساءلت : هل المقصود هنا من بني إسرائيل ؟ لو كان كذلك لقال ( من أنفسهم ) أما وقد قال ( من وسط إخوتهم ) فالمراد بها أبناء العمومة ، ففي سفر التثنية إصحاح 2 عدد 4 يقول الله لسيدنا موسى عليه السلام : ( أنتم مارون بنجم إخوتكم بني عيسو … ) و ( عيسو ) هذا الذي نقول عنه في الإسلام ( العيس ) هو شقيق يعقوب عليه السلام ، فأبناؤه أبناء عمومة لبني إسرائيل ، ومع ذلك قال ( إخوتكم ) وكذلك أبناء ( إسحق ) وأبناء ( إسماعيل ) هم أبناء عمومة ، لأن إسحق ، ( شقيق ) ( إسماعيل ) عليهما السلام ومن ( إسحق ) سلالة بني إسرائيل ، ومن ( إسماعيل ) كان ( قيدار ) ومن سلالته كان سيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ، وهذا الفرع الذي أراد بنو إسرائيل إسقاطه وهو الذي أكدته التوراة حين قالت ( من وسط إخوتهم ) أي من أبناء عمومتهم .
وتوقفت بعد ذلك عند لفظة ( مثلك ) ووضعت الأنبياء الثلاثة : موسى ، وعيسى ، ومحمد عليهم الصلاة والسلام للمقابلة فوجدت أن عيسى عليه السلام مختلف تمام الا ختلاف عن موسى وعن محمد عليهما الصلاة والسلام ، وفقاً للعقيدة النصرانية ذاتها والتي نرفضها بالطبع ، فهو الإله المتجسد ، وهو ابن الله حقيقة ، وهو الأقنوم الثاني في الثالوث ، وهو الذي مات على الصليب .. أما موسى عليه السلام فكان عبدالله ، وموسى كان رجلاً ، وكان نبياً ، ومات ميتة طبيعية ودفن في قبر كباقي الناس وكذلك سيدنا رسول الله محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ، وإذاً فالتماثل إنما ينطبق على محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ، بينما تتأكد المغايرة بين المسيح وموسى ـ عليهما السلام ـ ، ووفقاً للعقيدة النصرانية ذاتها ! فإذا مضينا إلى بقية العبارة : ( وأجعل كلامي في فمه .. ) ثم بحثنا في حياة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم فوجدناه أمياً لا يقرأ ولا يكتب ، ثم لم يلبث أن نطق بالقرآن الكريم المعجزة فجأة يوم أن بلغ الأربعين .. وإذا عدنا إلى نبوءة أخرى في التوراة سفر أشعيا إصحاح 79 تقول : ( أو يرفع الكتاب لمن لا يعرف القراءة ولا الكتابة ويقول له اقرأ ، يقول ما أنا بقاريء .. ) لوجدنا تطابقاً كاملاً بين هاتين النبوءتين وبين حادثة نزول جبريل بالوحي على رسول الله في غار حراء ، ونزول الآيات الخمس الأولى من سورة العلق.
ـ هذا عن التوراة ، فماذا عن الإنجيل وأنت الذي كنت تدين به ؟
ـ إذا استثنينا نبوءات برنابا الواضحة والصريحة ببعثة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم بالاسم ، وذلك لعدم اعتراف الكنيسة بهذا الإنجيل أصلاً ، فإن المسيح عليه السلام تنبأ في إنجيل يوحنا تسع نبوءات ، و ( البرقليط ) الذي بشر به يوحنا مرات عديدة … هذه الكلمة لها خمسة معاني : المعزّي ، والشفيع ، والمحامي ، والمحمد ، والمحمود ، وأي من هذه المعاني ينطبق على سيدنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم تمام الانطباق فهو المعزّي المواسي للجماعة التي على الإيمان وعلى الحق من بعد الضياع والهبوط ، وهو المحامي والمدافع عن عيسى ابن مريم عليه السلام وعن كل الأنبياء والرسل بعدما شوه اليهود والنصارى صورتهم وحرفوا ما أتوا به وهو الإسلام .. ولهذا جاء في إنجيل يوحنا إصحاح 14 عدد 16 و17 ( أنا أصلي إلى الله ليعطيكم معزياً آخر ليمكث معكم إلى الأبد روح الحق ) .. وقال في نبوءة أخرى إصحاح 16 عدد 13 ـ 14 ( وأما متى جاء ذاك الروح الحق فهو يرشدكم إلى جميع الحق لأنه لا يتكلم من نفسه بل كل ما يسمع يتكلم به . ويخبركم بأمور آتية ، ذاك يمجدني ) وهذا مصداق قول الله تبارك وتعالى : [ قل إنما أنا بشر مثلكم يوحى إلي أنما إلهكم إله واحد فمن كان يرجو لقاء ربه فليعمل عملاً صالحاً ولا يشرك بعبادة ربه أحدا ] .
ـ كيف كانت لحظة إعلانك للإسلام وكيف كانت بداية الحياة الجديدة في رحاب الهداية والحق ؟
ـ بعد أن وصلت إلى اليقين وتلمست الحقائق بيدي كان عليّ أن أتحدث مع أقرب الناس إلي زوجتي ، لكن الحديث تسرب عن طريقها إلى الإرسالية للأسف ، وسرعان ما تلقفوني ونقلوني إلى المستشفى وتحت مراقبة صارمة مدعين أني مختل العقل ! ولأربعة شهور تلت عشت معاناة شديدة جداً ، ففرقوا بيني وبين زوجتي وأولادي ، وصادروا مكتبتي وكانت تضم أمهات الكتب والموسوعات … حتى اسمي كعضو في مجمع أسيوط ، وفي مؤتمر ( سنودس ) شُطب ، وضاع ملفي كحامل ماجستير من كلية اللاهوت … ومن المفارقات العجيبة أن الإنجليز في هذه الآونة كانوا قد خلعوا الملك طلال من عرش الأردن بتهمة الجنون … فخشيت أن يحدث معي الأمر ذاته .. لذلك التزمت الهدوء والمصابرة وصمدت حتى أطلق سراحي ، فقدمت استقالتي من الخدمة الدينية واتجهت للعمل في شركة أمريكية للأدوات المكتبية لكن الرقابة هناك كانت عنيفة جداً ، فالكنيسة لا تترك أحداً من أبنائها يخرج عليها ويسلم ، إما أن يقتلوه أو يدسوا عليه الدسائس ليحطموا حياته .. وفي المقابل لم يكن المجتمع المسلم حينذاك ليقدر على مساعدتي … فحقبة الخمسينات والستينات كما تعلمون كانت تصفية للإخوان المسلمين ، وكان الانتماء للإسلام والدفاع عنه حينذاك لا يعني إلا الضياع ! ولذلك كان عليّ أن أكافح قدر استطاعتي ، فبدأت العمل التجاري ، وأنشأت مكتباً تجارياً هرعت بمجرد اكتماله للإبراق إلى ( د. جون تومسون ) رئيس الإرسالية الأمريكية حينذاك ، وكان التاريخ هو الخامس والعشرين من ديسمبر 1959 والذي يوافق الكريسماس ، وكان نص البرقية : ( آمنت بالله الواحد الأحد ، وبمحمد نبياً ورسولاً ) لكن إشهار اعتناقي الرسمي للإسلام كان يفترض عليّ وفق الإجراءات القانونية أن ألتقي بلجنة من الجنسية التي أنا منها لمراجعتي ومناقشتي.
و في الوقت الذي رفضت جميع الشركات الأوربية والأمريكية التعامل معي تشكلت اللجنة المعنية من سبعة قساوسة بدرجة الدكتوراه .. خاطبوني بالتهديد والوعيد أكثر من مناقشتي ! وبالفعل تعرضت للطرد من شقتي لأنني تأخرت شهرين أو ثلاثة عن دفع الإيجار واستمرت الكنيسة تدس علي الدسائس أينما اتجهت .. وانقطعت أسباب تجارتي .. لكني مضيت على الحق الذي اعتنقته … إلى أن قدر الله أن تبلغ أخباري وزير الأوقاف حينذاك عبدالله طعيمة ، والذي استدعاني لمقابلته وطلب مني بحضور الأستاذ الغزالي المساهمة في العمل الإسلامي بوظيفة سكرتير لجنة الخبراء في المجلس الأعلى للشؤون الإسلامية فكنت في منتهى السعادة في بادئ الأمر ، لكن الجو الذي انتقلت إليه كان ـ وللأسف ـ مسموماً ، فالشباب يدربون على التجسس بدل أن يتجهوا للعلم ! والموظفون مشغولون بتعليمات ( منظمة الشباب ) عن كل مهامهم الوظيفية وكان التجسس على الموظفين ، وعلى المديرين ، وعلى وكلاء الوزارة … حتى يتمكن الحاكم من أن يمسك هؤلاء جميعاً بيد من حديد ! ولكم تركت أشيائي منظمة كلها في درج مكتبي لأجدها في اليوم الثاني مبعثرة ! وعلى هذه الصورة مضت الأيام وأراد الله سبحانه أن يأتي د . محمد البهي وزيراً للأوقاف بعد . طعيمة الجرف . وكان د.البهي قد تربى تربية ألمانية منضبطة ، لكن توفيق عويضة سكرتير المجلس الأعلى للشؤون الإسلامية وأحد ضباط الصف الثاني للثورة تصدى له .. وحدث أن استدعاني د. البهي في يوم من الأيام بعدما صدر كتابي : ( المستشرقون والمنصرون في العالم العربي والإسلامي ) وأحب أن يتعرف عليّ … فترامى الخبر إلى توفيق عويضة واعتقد أنني من معسكر د. البهي والأستاذ الغزالي .. ووجدت نفسي فجأة أتلقى الإهانة من مدير مكتبه رجاء القاضي وهو يقول لي : اتفضل على الوزارة التي تحميك ! خرجت والدموع في عيني ، وقد وجدتهم صادروا كتبي الخاصة من مكتبي ولم يبقوا لي إلا شيئاً بسيطاً حملته ورجعت إلى الوزارة .. وهناك اشتغلت كاتب وارد بوساطة !! فكان يوم خروجي على المعاش بتاريخ 12 / 1 / 1979 وقد بلغت الستين ، ومن ذلك اليوم بدأ إبراهيم خليل يتبوأ مركزه كداعية إسلامي ، وكان أول ما نصرني الله به أن ألتقيت مع الدكتور جميل غازي ـ رحمه الله ـ بـ 13 قسيساً بالسودان في مناظرة مفتوحة انتهت باعتناقهم الإسلام جميعاً وهؤلاء كانوا سبب خير وهداية لغرب السودان حيث دخل الألوف من الوثنيين وغيرهم دين الله على أيديهم.

ـ في الختام نشكركم وندعو المولى أن يأخذ بالأيادي المخلصة إلى ما فيه خير أمة الإسلام ، وجزاكم الله خيراً ، والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته.
وهذا مانشرته مجلة الدعوة عنه في أكتوبر 1976:
أستاذ اللاهوت المسئول عن تنصير قطاع من مصر
كان يعمل راعي الكنيسة الإنجيلية و أستاذ العقائد و اللاهوت بكلية اللاهوت بأسيوط حتى عام 1953 ، ثم سكرتيراً عاماً للإرسالية الألمانية السويسرية بأسوان ، و مبشراً بين المسلمين ما بين المحافظات من أسيوط إلى أسوان حتى عام 1955 ... حصل على المؤهلات المتخصصة في اللاهوت ، فحصل على دبلوم كلية اللاهوت الإنجيلية بالقاهرة عام 1948 ، ثم ماجستير في الفلسفة و اللاهوت من جامعة "برنستون" بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عام 1952 .
و يتحدث "إبراهيم خليل أحمد" عن قصة دخوله الإسلام فيقول :
" في إحدى الأمسيات من عام 1955 سمعت القرآن مذاعاً بالمذياع ، و سمعت في قوله تعالى :
{ قل أوحيَ إليّ أنه استمع نفرٌ من الجن فقالوا إنا سمعنا قرآناً عجباً (1) يهدي إلى الرشد فآمنا به و لن نشرك بربنا أحداً } [الجن:1 ، 2]
كانت هاتان الآياتان بمثابة الشعلة المقدسة التي أضاءت ذهني و قلبي للبحث عن الحقيقة .. في تلك الأمسية عكفت على قراءة القرآن حتى أشرقت شمس النهار ، و كأن آيات القرآن نورٌ يتلألأ ، و كأنني أعيش في هالة من النور .. ثم قرأت مرة ثانية فثالثة فرابعة حتى وجدت قوله تعالى :
{ الذين يتبعون الرسول النبي الأمي الذي يجدونه مكتوباً عندهم في التوراة و الإنجيل يأمرهم بالمعروف و ينهاهم عن المنكر و يحل لهم الطيبات و يحرم عليهم الخبائث و يضع عنهم إصرهم و الأغلال التي كانت عليهم فالذين آمنوا به و عزروه و نصروه و اتبعوا النور الذي أنزل معه أولئك هم المفلحون } [الأعراف:157]
.. من هذه الآية قررت أن أقوم بدراسة متحررة للكتاب المقدس ، و قررت الاستقالة من عملي كقسيس و سكرتير عام للإرساليات الأمريكية بأسوان .
و لما نفذت قراري تآمر عليّ مجموعة أطباء و أشاعوا أنني مختل العقل ، فصبرت و صمدت بكل ثقة في الله ، فسافرت إلى القاهرة حيث عملت بشركة للمبيعات "استاندرد ستاشينري" ، و في أثناء عملي بها طلب مني مدير الشركة طبع تفسير جزء عم باللغة الإنجليزية ، فتعهدت له بإنجاز هذا العمل ، و كان يظنني مسلماً ، و حمدت الله أنه لم يفطن لمسيحيتي ، فكانت بالنسبة لي دراسة إسلامية متحررة من ثياب الدبلوماسية حتى شرح الله صدري للإسلام ، و وجدت أنه لابد من الاستقالة من العمل كخطوة لإعلان إسلامي ، و فعلاً قدمت استقالتي في عام 1959 و أنشأت مكتباً تجارياً و نجحت في عملي الجديد .
و في 25 ديسمبر عام 1959 أرسلت برقية للإرسالية الأمريكية بمصر الجديدة بأنني آمنت بالله الواحد الأحد و بمحمد نبياً و رسولاً ، ثم قدمت طلباً إلى المحافظة للسير في الإجراءات الرسمية .. و تم تغيير اسمي من "إبراهيم خليل فيلبس" إلى "إبراهيم خليل أحمد" ، و تضمن القرار تغيير أسماء أولادي على النحو التالي : إسحاق إلى أسامة ، و صموئيل إلى جمال ، و ماجدة إلى نجوى ."
ثم يلتقط أنفاسه ليعاود سرد قصته و رحلته للإيمان بالإسلام ، فيقول عن المتاعب التي تعرض لها :
" فارقتني زوجتي بعد أن استنكرت عليّ و على أولادي الإسلام ، كما قررت البيوتات الأجنبية التي تتعامل في الأدوات المكتبية و مهمات المكاتب عدم التعامل معي ، و من ثم أغلقت مكتبي التجاري ، و اشتغلت كاتباً بشركة بـ 15 جنيهاً شهرياً بعد أن كان دخلي 80 جنيهاً ... و في هذه الأثناء درست السيرة النبوية ، و كانت دراستها لي عزاء و رحمة .. و لكن حتى هذه الوظيفة المتواضعة لم أستمر فيها ، فقد استطاع العملاء الأمريكان أن يوغروا الشركة ضدي حتى فصلتني ، و ظللت بعدها ثلاثة أشهر بلا عمل حتى عينت في المجلس الأعلى للشئون الإسلامية ، و ذلك إثر محاضرة قد ألقيتها و كان عنوانها لماذا أسلمت؟ "
ثم يضحك بمرارة و سخرية و هو يقول :
" لقد تولت الكنيسة إثارة الجهات المسئولة ضدي ، حتى أن وزارتي الأوقاف و الداخلية طلبتا مني أن أكف عن إلقاء المحاضرات و إلا تعرضت لتطبيق قانون الوحدة الوطنية متهماً بالشغب و إثارة الفتن ، و ذلك بعد أن قمت بإلقاء العديد من المحاضرات في علم الأديان المقارن بالمساجد في الإسكندرية و المحلة الكبرى و أسيوط و أسوان و غيرها من المحافظات ، فقد اهتزت الكنيسة لهذه المحاضرات بعد أن علمت أن كثيراً من الشباب النصراني قد اعتنق الإسلام "
ثم يصمت في أسى ليقول بعدها :
" هذا الاختناق دفعني دفعاً إلى أن أقرر الهجرة إلى المملكة العربية السعودية حيث أضع كل خبراتي في خدمة كلية الدعوة و أصول الدين "
ثم يعود مستدركاً و موضحاً لما سبق أن أشار إليه عن أسباب اعتناقه للإسلام ، فيقول :
" إن الإيمان لابد أن ينبع من القلب أولاً ، و الواقع أن إيماني بالإسلام تسلل إلى قلبي خلال فترات طويلة كنت دائماً أقرأ القرآن الكريم و أقرأ تاريخ الرسول الكريم و أحاول أن أجد أساساً واحداً يمكن أن يقنعني أن محمداً هذا الإنسان الأمي الفقير البسيط يستطيع وحده أن يحدث كل تلك الثورة التي غيرت تاريخ العالم و لا تزال .
استوقفني كثيراً نظام التوحيد في الإسلام و هو من أبرز معالم الإسلام : { ليس كمثله شئ } [الشورى:11] ، { قل هو الله أحد (1) الله الصمد } [الإخلاص:1 ، 2] " .. و يرفع رأسه متأملاً في السماء و يقول :
" نعم .. التوحيد يجعلني عبداً لله وحده ، و لست عبداً لأي إنسان ... التوحيد هنا يحرر الإنسان و يجعله غير خاضع لأي إنسان ، و تلك هي الحرية الحقيقية ، فلا عبودية إلا لله وحده .. عظيم جداً نظام الغفران في الإسلام ، فالقاعدة الأساسية للإيمان تقوم على الصلة المباشرة بين العبد و ربه ، فالإنسان في الإسلام يتوب إلى الله وحده ، لا وجود لوسطاء ، و لا لصكوك الغفران أو كراس الاعتراف ؛ لأن العلاقة مباشرة بين الإنسان و ربه " .
و يختتم كلامه و قد انسابت تعابيره رقراقةً :
" لا تعلم كم شعرت براحة نفسية عميقة و أنا أقرأ القرآن الكريم فأقف طويلاً عند الآية الكريمة : { لو أنزلنا هذا القرآن على جبلٍ لرأيتَه خاشعاً متصدعاً من خشية الله } [الحشر:21]
كذا الآية الكريمة :
{ لتجدنَّ أشد الناس عداوةً للذين آمنوا اليهود و الذين أشركوا و لتجدنَّ أقربهم مودةً للذين آمنوا الذين قالوا إنا نصارى ذلك بأن منهم قسيسين و رهباناً و أنهم لا يستكبرون (82) و إذا سمعوا ما أنزل إلى الرسول ترى أعينهم تفيض من الدمع مما عرفوا من الحق يقولون ربنا آمنا فاكتبنا مع الشاهدين } [المائدة:82 ، 83]
لذلك كله اتخذت قراري بإشهار إسلامي ، بل عليّ القيام بالدعوة للدين الإسلامي الذي كنت من أشد أعدائه ، يكفي أنني لم أدرس الإسلام في البداية إلا لكي أعرف كيف أطعنه و أحاربه ، و لكن النتيجة كانت عكسية فبدأ موقفي يهتز و بدأت أشعر بصراع داخلي بيني و بين نفسي ، و اكتشفت أن ما كنت أبشر به و أقوله للناس كله زيف و كذب " .
