وقد صح عندنا نحن المسلمين في الحديث الذي يرويه أبو داود عن أبي الدرداء رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: (إن العبد إذا لعن شيئاً، صعدت اللعنة إلى السماء، فتغلق أبواب السماء دونها، ثم تهبط إلى الأرض، فتغلق أبوابها دونها، ثم تأخذ يميناً وشمالاً، فإذا لم تجد مساغاً، رجعت إلى الذي لُعن، فإن كان أهلاً لذلك، وإلا رجعت إلى قائلها..). 

ولا نشك نحن المسلمون طرفة عين، أن الله قد سلم عبده ورسوله المسيح من لعناتهم، وأنه عليه السلام ليس أهلاً لتلك اللعنات ؛ ومن ثم فقد صدق خبر نبينا الصادق المصدوق في هؤلاء .. حيث رجعت لعناتهم عليهم، فهم يجتمعون وينفضون على اللعنة كما رأيت!! ولا تزال لعناتهم تحور وتتردد عليهم وعلى رؤوسهم إلى يوم القيامة ؛ إلا من تاب منهم وآمن وبرئ من شركه وباطله.

وقد اعترف بعض علمائهم بحلول اللعنة عليهم كما في خبر زيد بن عمرو بن نفيل لما خرج إلى الشام يسأل عن الدين .. فلقي عالماً من النصارى، فسأله عن دينهم فقال له: لن تكون على ديننا حتى تأخذ بنصيبك من لعنة الله: فقال رحمه الله لرجاحة عقله: ما أفر إلا من لعنة الله، ولا أحمل من لعنة الله شيئاً أبداً وأنّا أستطيع، فهل تدلني على غيره؟ قال: ما أعلمه إلا أن يكون حنيفاً قال: وما الحنيف؟ قال: دين إبراهيم لم يكن يهودياً ولا نصرانياً ولا يعبد إلا الله، فلما رأى زيد قوله في إبراهيم عليه السلام خرج؛ فلما برز رفع يديه فقال: اللهم أني أشهدك إني على دين إبراهيم .. وانظر الخبر كاملاً في صحيح البخاري، كتاب مناقب الأنصار. 

  قال ابن القيم رحمه الله تعالى ؛ بعد أن سرد أخبار مجامع تباركة وأساقفة النصارى على مر العصور، وعدّد عشرة من تلك المجامع التي اختلفوا فيها اختلافا كثيراً، قال: ( فهذه عشرة مجامع من مجامعهم مشهورة اشتملت على أكثر من أربعة عشر ألفاً من البتاركة والأساقفة والرهبان، كلهم ما بين لاعن وملعون. فهذه حال المتقدمين منهم ، مع قرب زمانهم من أيام المسيح، ووجود أخباره فيهم، والدولة دولتهم، والكلمة كلمتهم، وعلماؤهم إذ ذاك أوفر ما كانوا ،واهتمامهم في دينهم كما ترى ؛ وهم حيارى تائهون ضالون مضلون، لا يثبت لهم قدم ولا يستقر لهم قول في إلههم، بل كلٌ منهم قد اتخذ إلهه هواه، وصرّح بالكفر والتبري ممن اتبع سواه، قد تفرّقت بهم في نبيهم وإلههم الأقاويل، وهم كما قال الله تعالى: " قَدْ ضَلُّوا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَأَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا وَضَلُّوا عَنْ سَوَاءِ السَّبِيلِ" (77) سورة المائدة. 

فلو سألت أهل البيت الواحد عن دينهم ومعتقدهم في ربهم ونبيهم، لأجابك الرجل بجواب، وامرأته بجواب، وابنه بجواب والخادم بجواب، فما ظنك في عصرنا هذا، وهم نخالة الماضين، وزبالة الغابرين، ونفاية المتحيرين ؟ وقد طال عليهم الأمد وبعد عهدهم بالمسيح ودينه ؟ ) أهـ من إغاثة اللهفان (2/281).
